Just Pal’ing Around – Animal Best Friends
Owen and Mzee
Owen, a baby hippo, was separated from his mother during a tsunami in 2004. He was brought to the Haller Park Rescue Center on the Kenyan coast where he met Mzee, a 130-year-old tortoise. They palled around for two years before Owen was moved to a separate enclosure, due to his size and concerns for Mzee’s safety.
Roo and Penny
Fluffy, two-legged, and good-natured, it’s no surprise that Penny and Roo became fast friends. Penny is a silkie chicken and Roo is a two-legged Chihuahua. Both were rescued from the Duluth Animal Hospital.
Bea and Wilma
Long necked buddies, Bea and Wilma love hanging out together at Busch Gardens in Florida.
Tinni and Sniffer
The fox and the hound movie becomes a reality in Norway, as Tinni the dog and Sniffer the wild fox play in the woods and hang out daily.
Shere Khan, Baloo and Leo
Lions and tigers and bears, oh my, what great friends! This threesome shares the tragic background of being raised and abused by a drug dealer. They were rescued and currently enjoy their days together at Noah’s Ark Animal Sanctuary in Georgia.
Jax and Wally
Jax, a Bernese mountain dog has a tiny squirrel friend named Wally. Wally was a baby when Jax’s family brought him into their home. Wally and Jax get along and Wally is often found hiding nuts in Jax’s thick fur.
